Jeanne's Baptism and lovely WE in France

On friday Marainne and Ansaari were here and they took us with them to Besancon, Mariannes home town, we reached there late in the evening, then had a wondeful time first going n saying hi to Mariannes' other sisters and then came back and had a wonderful dinner in the garden. Its so hot here that eating sitting out in the fresh air was lovely!..
We stayed with Crytal, Mariannes's sister, then in the morning Vivek went with Marianne's BIL fishing(he had been wanting to do fishing since long)..so from early morning till 10 o clock they fished along with the children and then we went to a big supermarket in Besancon to buy stuff. After we came back vivek went out to play cricket with the kids and then to swim in their swimming pool. I stayed with Marianne and we went to a shopping for clothes:-). After coming back i made pasta salad for the baptism party and marinated chicken. Then we went again to a supermarket to print out some photos for baptism souvenirs and came back and again had lovely grilled food (including the fishes caught in the morning) in garden in evening, then helped Marianne finish up the souvenirs. Then we also lay down in the grass outside, so I guess for me n vivek it was a long relaxing and perfect saturday.
Then came the big day, first helped Marianne a little to decorate up the table for the party and then we all went to church in morning at 10.00 for Jeanne's Baptism, The entire service was in French, so we cdnt understand a single word, nonetheless it ws interesting for us, we also got some bread to eat like prasad in the end. Then came the party, actually this time it was a smaller affair as compared to Alexi's Baptism and only very close family was there. First there was an apperitif round with snacks and drinks. Then again yummy grilled stuff with red wine, my pasta salad and some other stuff. Then was time for cheese and green salad round. Then in the end just before we had to leave we had the final cake and champagne round. So all in all it was a wonderful party. Most of them spoke only french, they made effort to communicate with us though in french and we spoke back in german or english. The best part was inspite of language problem there was such a nice comfort level that we felt very nice and at home there.
Then finally we took the french train and came back home where some of our guests who will be staying with us this week were waiting:-)..
so i hope my this long experience will not bore u but anyway wanted to share it.. We just have the photos of the baptism ceremony, if you wanna have a look,
  • here
  • they are.
