Bollywood in Germany!

I was telling Shweta yesterday that in Germany also a lot of bollywood films dubbed in german are invading theaters and also Tv channel like RTL II. So here is a collage of all the indian movies which have already hit germany. Look carefully n you will see german names along with the original hindi names. Mind you they have dubbed very nicely so now shahrukh and rani n saif and preity all speak fluent german :-). U must be wondering so what happens to our wonderul bollywood songs, dont worry they are played in Hindi with german subtitles:-)

[ Here is a list of german names for some of our movies: Generally they dont mean the same as in hindi so have tried to give you an english translation of wht it actually means in german:
Koi mil gaya : SternenKind (child of stars)
Hum tum : Ich und du
Dhoom : Die Jagd beginnt ( the chase begins)
Veer & Zaara : Die Legende einer Liebe ( the legend of Love)
Asoka: der Weg des Kriegers ( the way of the warrior)
Phir bhi dil hai Hindustani : Mein Herz schlägt Indisch
Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam: In guten wie in shlechtem Tagen ( in good as in bad days)
Main hoom na : Ich bin immer für dich da ( i am always there for you)
Bride and Prejudice: Liebe lieber Indisch (love preferably indian)
Swadesh: Heimat
Mohabbatein : Denn mein Liebe ist unsterblich ( Because my love is immortal)
Kuch Kuch hota Hai: Und dann ganz plotzlich ist es liebe ( and then suddenly its love) ]

Imagine what the Germans must be thinking of our people dancing around trees! But its so good they actually enjoy it!! My brother's corporate office is in Germany and some activities in Swizerland so he goes there every year. Once he met some swiss people who told him , your induan people cam here , danced and went!

I enjoy watching Bollywood movies with Spanish subtitles (on DVDs). If it weren't for the subtitles...I always get the urge to fast-forward...especially during songs...

some of my german, russian, arabic friends rewind the songs to enjoy the group dancing which is so common in our bollywood movies and r glued to all romantic n emotional scenes...when jaya bachhan is seperated from shahrukh in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, most of them manage to hide their tears as well...it´s nice to see how our culture is appreciated here!!!
