Kabadiwaala...is it?

For us indians this photo reminds us of the neighbourhood kabadiwaala or ragpicker who used to comes once in a month to collect the old newspapers, bottles and things of iron n infact used to give some money also in return of being able to carry the stuff. He used to bundle all the old newspapers so neatly and tie them up with string..

Well these photos are of yesterday in front of our building in swiss. Here in swiss we ourselves have to bundle up all the paper and tie it neatly with a string and put it outside once a month so that it can be picked up. If they are not neatly packed they are not carried away.

So while I am telling you about paper disposal lemme also add about garbage disposal.

For the daily garbage we have to buy special sacks and then put a stamp of 2.30 francs(rs. 84.19) for every bag we dispose off. For our appts we have a special room where we go n place this garbage and this is later picked up from that room once a week. So garbage disposal is also a little expensive here:-).

Now remain glass bottles, jars and all types of cans..For these there are special big containers placed at convenient places all over where they can be disposed off.

The recyclable plastic bottles can be disposed off at the Superstore from where they had been bought.
